Emergency operations
Exchange Management Support, for emergency only, dial +44 2080890096; have your username and password available. Please keep in mind the following etiquette rules when placing your call:
Are you calling the management desk:
Example:
Client says: Hello my name is …, number XXXX account ID and my password XXXX.
Manager says: Please give me the price of dollar / yen to three notes “.
The manager will respond with a bilateral price quote.
Example: Manager: “105.10-15”
This means you can buy the dollar / yen to 105.15, 105.10 or sell them.
To purchase, you can say any of the following: “15”, “buy”, “buy a 15”, “My” or “Mine to 15.
To sell, you can say any of the following: “10”, “Buy”, “Buy a 10”, “Yours” or “Yours to 10”.
Example: Manager: “I buy a 15”.
You would normally have 3-5 seconds to respond before a price change, depending on market volatility. If no response is given and the price changes, the manager will say “Change”, “Price Change”, “Off” or “Your risk”, in which case you can ask for the updated price.
If you respond to an order to buy or sell, the manager will say “Done” or otherwise indicate that the operation has been executed. You may then want to set a cap on losses and / or an order limit.
Example: Manager: “Done”
Client: “Put a cap on losses to 104.80 and 106.00 limit”
Manager: “Done.” (The manager then hangs up)
Note, however, orders placed by telephone will not be displayed immediately on the system as Cathedral Investment Bank’s staff must manually update them. Therefore, it will take several minutes for the system to be updated. Also, please note, you must strictly adhere to these procedures during periods of market volatility.
